English Teacher Join Victoria Park Bill: The Mercury winners slot into a lineup held together largely by mystery headliners and optimism

A festival bill with two secret headliners is either an act of genuine confidence or a masterclass in selling anticipation. English Teacher, at least, is a name worth circling.

Every festival announcement is, at some level, a dare. Buy the ticket before you know who's headlining, trust that July's second wave won't disappoint, assume the organisers know something you don't. The one-day Victoria Park show on 5 September 2026 is asking exactly that of you, with two headline slots still unannounced and a promise that more names are coming in July. The confirmed draw, for now, is English Teacher — the Mercury-winning Leeds band added as a late addition to the bill, which is either a coup or a placeholder depending on how generously you're feeling.

What You're Actually Buying

A day ticket is £62.50, on sale Thursday 12 June. That's the concrete part. The rest — who tops the bill, how many acts come in the second wave, what the running order looks like — remains firmly in the hands of the organisers and their July reveal. You are, in effect, purchasing partial information and a date in your diary.

The One Thing That's Certain

English Teacher are the only named act, which makes them do a lot of heavy lifting for a band billed as a late addition rather than a headliner. Whether that's the right amount of weight for £62.50 and a blank space where the top of the bill should be is a calculation only you can run. The on-sale is Thursday 12 June. Make your peace with the unknowns before then, or don't — but don't say you weren't told.
